(Reliability: 3). Lois Beverly (Walter) Settle went peacefully home to be with the Lord and the love her life (our daddy, Jesse) on Sunday, July 20, 2025, at her residence. She was born August 29, 1933, to the late Francis (Frank) Walter and Marion (Rowzie) Walter. She was the mother of two girls, two boys, and loving MeeMaw of six grandchildren and five great grandchildren. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her sister Maxine (Walter) Hutton and the love of her life ("my one and only") Jesse J. Settle. Lois is survived by her two daughters: Vicki Ellen Fletcher, of Port St. Lucie, FL, and Sheri Lynne Aylor of Amissville, VA, two sons: James Patrick (Rusty) Settle (Pam) of Pine, CO, Curtis Shawn Settle (Cindy) of Amissville, VA. Five grandchildren: Tiffany Ann Roberts (George) of Port St. Lucie FL. Louis Folk (Chris) Fletcher, III (Cherry) of Port St. Lucie, FL, SSGT Nils Aylor, II (Derricka) of Iwakuni Japan; Monica Dinkins (Victor) of N. Beach Miami, FL., Tyler Settle, Greely, CO, and Dustin Shenk, Amissville, VA. Five great grandchildren: Adrian Butler, II, Brooklyn Waters-Aylor, Lareighly Aylor, Destiny Dinkins and Rikyla Aylor. Lois grew up as a member of the Amissville United Methodist Church. She sang and played the piano and loved telling stories of her childhood to anyone who would listen. She was a homemaker, seamstress, and gardener. She loved her home, her family and friends that would often come by to have the hem on a pair of pants sewn or last-minute prom dress alterations. Her family history is steeped in Rappahannock County as Amissville was named after her great great-grandfather John Amiss. "I've lived a great life, I have good children, good grandchildren and great grandchildren. I want to go up there and be with him, he's waiting for me". (speaking of her husband, Jesse) The family will receive friends at their home Saturday, July 26, 2025, any time after 12:00 at 14635 Lee Hwy, Amissville, VA.
